Chicago Inquiry Results 30 Years Too Late

So, police tortured suspects. That's a big surprise. Now, who wants to lay odds that any current allegations of abuse will be handled with the same concern and diligence with which those in the 70s and 80s were handled?

It's a perennial trick of the system. Acknowledge old wrong-doing, generally of a category that can't be remedied, and imply that things are much better now. Meanwhile business goes on as usual. But who cares, right, it's only poor, dusky people who need worry.

Ah America! Land of lucre, home of the spayed.
