"A word after a word after a word is power”

They hate us for our freedoms

Right-wingers, I mean. The evidence? Someone sent a package containing white powder to the New York Times. Speculation, and I stress it is just speculation, is that the powder was sent by some kook who was whipped into a froth by all the violent anti-Times fantasies spewed by right-wing pundits over the Times' coverage of President Bush's indiscriminate spying on financial and phone records.

I'm not going to defend the Times. No one should have to.

I'm just going to point out that every liberty that has been eroded in the past five years, has come under attack because right wingers have been steadily pissing themselves over terrorism since 9/11/2001. These people are ready, willing and eager to see the values and ideals expressed by the founders of this country be trampled thrown away on the altar of so-called security, a security in which the government of this country becomes an ever increasing threat to the citizens of this country.

The longer the right-wing remains in control of this country, the more likely it is that terrorism, as defined by those with no ideological ax to grind, will become the province of right-wing ideologues, both inside and outside the government.
