WTF is Wrong With the Media

I know. Its not like it hasn't been asked before. But ABC cutting out comments critical of Bush from the This Week interview with Spike Lee! Why the fuck are they continuing to protect Bush from criticism? I don't get it.

This actually supports my contention that the media just follows conventional wisdom. For some reason conventional wisdom says its unseemly to criticize George W. Bush. The real problem is making decisions based on conventional wisdom (which is always wrong, btw) puts the media squarely in the Republican camp. The mainstream media is owned, literally and figuratively, by the Republicans. That's all there is too it. The independent mainstream media, if it ever existed, is long dead and gone.

Independent mainstream media is a myth, like unicorns and Santa Clause and the American Dream.

Perversely, I'd like to think that Republicans might at least use it to frighten their children, but I doubt the ol'independent mainstream media myth has even that much credibility...
