"A word after a word after a word is power”

Couple of Things

Just real quick here:

First, apparently Rove is out their warming up the crowd with coy little hints about an October surprise.

Let me guess. They're going to break up some big important terror cell that is big enough and important enough for Fox News to collectively cream their pants over the announcement, but not big enough or important enough that there's any hurry about shutting them down.

Just a guess.

Second, Charles Rangel's criticism of Hugo Chavez's remarks about President Bush is kind of stupid. I mean, really. For myself, I have no problem with foreigners criticizing Dubya. I think it's idiotic to claim that because he's our fuck-up, we're the only ones allowed to be critical of him. It smacks of the idiotic rightwing howl that the Dixie Chicks stepped over some imaginary line by criticizing Dubya overseas. Criticism is either valid or not, it doesn't matter if it's given by a native or a foreigner just like it doesn't matter if its given here or somewhere else. And if anyone has reason to criticize Bush it's the democratically elected guy G-Dumb tried to have undemocratically removed from office. Maybe Charlie and other defenders of our collective honor should focus on what Chavez's criticism tells us about the damage Bush has done to us in the eyes of the international community. Maybe that might be more productive than a press conference designed to appeal to the irrational chauvinism of so-called Middle America.

I'm just saying.
