Eric Alterman Has Been Fired By MSNBC

As usual when this sort of thing happens, there's all kinds of rumors flying around that Alterman was canned because he's a liberal. Certainly, in recent years, MSNBC hasn't given anyone reason to believe the network's higher-ups have any sympathy for liberals. Still, as Alterman says, corporations generally can offer a relatively inoffensive reason for firing someone. Short of a damning memo from the president of GE coming to light, it's probably better and less stress-inducing to just assume MSNBC decided they'd rather do something else with the money they were spending on Altercation.
