'Cause He's Done So Well With All The Other Powers He's Been Given ...

George Bush wants the power to imprison anyone, for any reason, indefinitely. He tried to claim to have that power before and the Supreme Court slapped him with a rolled up newspaper and told him, "NO!" So now he wants Congress to give it to him. I'd like to believe they would never, but c'mon! Let's be realistic.

There was a time something like this would make me want to leave the country, but now I want to stay. I'm starting to find it perversely amusing. It's like the ultimate theater of the absurd. Just when you think the actors can't get any more ridiculous, they do. There probably came a time on the Titanic when some of the passengers just stopped and started enjoying all the sublime destruction, even though they were in the middle of it. I'm not saying it's a healthy attitude.

Let's hope though, at this point, with his approval rating all bloody and shit upon in the gutter, President Bush and his "senior officials" are finally going to find out they're living a delusion. Let's hope Congress, as one, chews up the legislation and blows it out through a straw right into Busholini's smirking face.

And while we're at it, lets wonder that, after everything that's happened, we have any ability to hope at all.
